Mail Strippers!
As more and more activists use email and the Internet to circulate information, more
and more unwanted symbols tend to creep into our communications. These things are like static: possible to ignore, yet without them,
message clarity is greatly enhanced. Activist San Diego is pleased to provide our members and visitors with links to two excellent
programs that make our lives easier (more will be listed as they become available). You can click on either banner to take you to that utility maker's home page where each tool is
available for downloading.
This simple tool, found on Mr. Ed's official site,
will remove those annoying
'>' symbols that are inserted when an e-mail has been forwarded, &
which accumulate after the message has been forwarded several times. You are encouraged to visit his site and download a simple HTML
file. You can then leave it on your desktop (or someplace easy to get to), and use it whenever you need to remove those particular symbols.
This second program, called StripMail, is a little more powerful in that it actually
can format your text into paragraphs, indent for you, and, of course, strip away those annoying little characters. Just follow the instructions they
provide on their website and away you go!
These programs are both free to download and use, and as far as we can tell, are freeware (free to distribute for no-fee only).
For more information, read each manufacturer's terms of use policy.
